How many stimulus payments were there?
A total of three stimulus payments (also known as Economic Impact Payments) were issued between 2020 and 2021, to help families cope with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first stimulus payment was issued in March/April 2020 and provided up to $1,200 per eligible adult and up to $500 for each qualifying dependent.
The second stimulus payment was issued in December 2020 and provided up to $600 per eligible person (adult, child, or dependent).
The third stimulus payment was issued in March/April 2021 and provided up to $1,400 per eligible person (adult, child, or dependent).
